Long hours of market watching can strain your eyes. Dark mode can effectively reduce fatigue. The Binance APP supports a dark theme, and setting it up is simple. After registering a Binance account and getting the Binance APP, get started.
How to Enable Dark Mode
Steps to enable dark mode in the Binance APP:
Open the Binance APP → Tap the avatar in the top left to enter your profile → Find "Theme" or "Appearance" settings → Select "Dark Mode."
After switching, the APP immediately applies the new theme. All pages including home, markets, trading, and assets will change to a dark background.
Three Theme Options
The Binance APP typically offers three theme choices:
Light mode. White background with dark text — the default theme. Provides a good reading experience in well-lit environments but can be harsh on the eyes in the dark.
Dark mode. Dark background with light text, significantly reducing screen brightness and blue light. Much more comfortable for nighttime use or market watching in dim environments.
Follow system. Automatically switches based on your phone's system theme setting. When the phone is in dark mode, Binance switches to dark; when the phone uses a light theme, Binance also uses light. This is the most hands-off option.
Benefits of Dark Mode
Eye protection. Dark mode drastically reduces the light emitted by the screen, especially reducing eye strain when used in dark environments. This is particularly important for traders who need to watch the market for extended periods.
Battery saving. On phones with OLED screens (most mid-to-high-end phones now use OLED), dark mode can significantly reduce power consumption. OLED pixels displaying black are essentially turned off, using almost no power.
Less disturbance. When using your phone at night, dark mode is less likely to disturb people nearby.
More professional look. Many professional traders prefer dark interfaces, as traditional trading terminals (like the Bloomberg Terminal) use dark backgrounds.
Candlestick Chart Color Settings
Beyond the overall theme, Binance also lets you customize candlestick chart colors for up and down movements:
On the trading page's candlestick chart, find the settings icon → Color settings. You can choose:
- Green up, red down — The international standard (used by US stocks, futures, etc.)
- Red up, green down — The traditional Chinese A-share color scheme, more familiar to Chinese users
Choose based on personal preference — both options are functionally identical.
Dark Mode on Web and Desktop
Binance's web version also supports dark mode. Find the theme toggle button in the top right corner (usually a sun/moon icon) and click to switch.
The desktop client also supports theme switching, found in the settings menu.
FAQ
Candlestick chart colors look wrong after theme switch? Colors automatically adapt after a theme switch. If they look abnormal, try closing and reopening the APP.
Some pages still show white in dark mode? Possibly due to an older APP version where some pages haven't been adapted for dark mode. Updating to the latest version usually resolves this.
Can I set scheduled switching? By selecting "Follow system" and using your phone's built-in scheduled dark mode feature (such as iOS's "Sunset to Sunrise" auto-switch), you can achieve timed switching.
Dark mode is a small but practical feature. We especially recommend it for users who frequently watch the market at night.
