Tired of entering your password every time you open Binance? Good news — the Binance APP fully supports fingerprint and facial recognition for quick login. After registering a Binance account and getting the Binance APP, set up biometric login right away.
Supported Biometric Methods
The Binance APP supports the following biometric login methods:
Fingerprint recognition (Touch ID / Fingerprint unlock). Available on Android phones with fingerprint sensors and iPhones (iPhone SE, iPhone 8, and earlier models with Home buttons).
Facial recognition (Face ID / Face unlock). Available on Face ID-supported iPhones (iPhone X and later full-screen models) and Android phones with facial recognition.
As long as your phone hardware supports it and you have already enrolled fingerprint or facial data in your phone's system settings, you can enable the corresponding biometric login in the Binance APP.
How to Set Up
Step 1: Make sure fingerprint or facial recognition is already configured in your phone's system. If not, set it up first under Settings → Security / Touch ID & Passcode / Face ID & Passcode.
Step 2: Open the Binance APP → Profile → Security Center → Find "Biometric" or "Fingerprint/Face Login" option → Tap to enable.
Step 3: The system will ask you to verify your identity once (enter password or complete another security verification). After confirmation, it is successfully enabled.
Once enabled, the next time you open the Binance APP, the fingerprint or facial recognition prompt will appear automatically. Pass verification to enter without typing your password.
Biometric Use Cases
Binance's biometric feature is not just for login — it can also be used in the following scenarios:
APP unlock. Verify every time you switch back to the Binance APP from the background, preventing others from viewing your assets and trades when you're not looking.
Trade confirmation. Biometric verification can replace password entry for certain trading operations, speeding up the process.
Withdrawal confirmation. For sensitive operations like withdrawals, biometrics can serve as an additional security verification layer.
Security Analysis
Many users wonder: is fingerprint or facial login secure?
Biometric login is actually very secure. Fingerprint and facial data are stored in your phone's secure chip and are never uploaded to Binance's servers. The entire verification process happens locally on the device — even if the network is intercepted, your biometric information cannot be obtained.
Moreover, biometrics are extremely difficult to copy or forge. Modern phone fingerprint sensors and facial recognition systems employ liveness detection technology, meaning photos, fingerprint molds, and similar attempts will not pass verification.
That said, biometric login should complement — not replace — all security measures. You still need Google Authenticator and a password to protect critical operations.
APP Lock Feature
In addition to biometric login, the Binance APP offers an "APP Lock" feature. When enabled, fingerprint/face verification is required every time you open the APP or return from the background.
This feature is especially useful if: you frequently lend your phone to others, you use your phone in public places, or you don't have a lock screen password. APP Lock ensures that even if someone gets your phone, they cannot open Binance to view or operate your assets.
Setup: Profile → Security Center → APP Lock → Enable and choose verification method.
FAQ
What if fingerprint/face recognition fails? After multiple failures, the APP automatically switches to password login. You can enter your account password to log in normally.
What about switching phones? You need to set up biometric login again on the new phone. After logging into your Binance account, re-enable it in security settings.
Can I turn off biometrics? Yes, you can disable it at any time in security settings to return to traditional password login.
Biometric login makes using the Binance APP more convenient and secure. We strongly recommend all users enable it.
